Visiting Virginia Cideries in Charlottesville

In colonial times cider was the drink of choice in Virginia. It was easy to make, safer than drinking the water and apples in Virginia were abundant. With the advent of beer and hard liquors, cider fell out of favor, but never completely disappeared.
The good news is that cider is making a comeback in Virginia. It makes sense, Virginia grows some of the best apples in the world and cider makes for a nice refreshing drink that is low in alcohol.
